Description:

  • To describe the demographic and diagnostic characteristics of Medicaid enrolled NH residents in Florida who experience an ACS hospitalization during the study timeframe.
  • Determine prevalence rates, risk factors, and costs of ACS hospitalizations for three groups of Florida's Medicaid enrolled NH residents 1) those with SMI, 2) those with Alzheimer disease or other dementia and 3) those with no diagnosed SMI or dementia.
  • To examine the relationship between NH facility characteristics and the prevalence of ACS hospitalizations among Medicaid enrolled Floridians.
  • To examine the prevalence of ACS hospitalizations for Medicaid enrolled NH residents in Florida by race/ethnicity and explore whether differences in disease prevalence, severity of physical health conditions, or cooccurring mental illness explain the prevalence rates of ACS hospitalizations found in these subpopulations of NH residents.
